Choosing a Sri Lankan Safari Experience

Choose a safari for the whole landscape, not a guaranteed photograph.

Choosing a Sri Lankan Safari Experience

Start with your route

Choose parks that fit the geography of your journey. Wilpattu and the north-central parks can pair with the Cultural Triangle; a southern route can include the Yala or Udawalawe area. Avoid crossing the island just to collect park names.

Let nature set the pace

Wild animals move freely, and no sighting can be guaranteed. Discuss season, current park access and the length of outing with the operator. Patient observation is part of the experience.

Be a considerate visitor

Keep quiet, remain within the vehicle where required and follow park rules. Never feed or approach wildlife, and ask your driver to keep a respectful distance. Leave no litter.
